PHIL COLLINS RADIO INTERVIEW SPECIALS – Various Dates
Like the NO JACKET REQUIRED and BUT SERIOUSLY TOURS listed previously, there are no pre-FM shows from this tour. There is one show that purports to be a pre-FM sourced concert, recorded at The Estadio River Plate Stadium in Buenos Aires, Argentina on 24 April 1995. Details on this recording are sketchy as I cannot find any information on which company (Westwood One, King Biscuit, etc.) recorded and produced the pre-FM discs, nor can I determine the original broadcast date for these discs. I have a strong suspicion that the show was in fact sourced from a stereo simulcast or later broadcast, but again, information is hard to find. Some details on this show can be found HERE.
As with other tours, there are numerous FM broadcasts or simulcasts from this tour in circulation, as listed on Simon’s site. This was due in part to companies like Westwood One shifting from a pre-FM format of capturing the shows for later use, to an FM simulcast format of broadcasting the shows live in real time. Some of the FM simulcasts include concerts performed at The G-Mex Centre in Manchester, United Kingdom, Wembley Arena in London, and The Fukuoka Dome in Fukuoka, Japan.
While no official VHS or DVD/Blu-ray release from this tour has ever materialized, (save for the Sears produced promo video of the tour rehearsals entitled A CLOSER LOOK) there are a few Pro-Shot videos available in trading circles that captured complete performances. Interestingly, these Pro-Shot shows were recorded at the same venues as the FM simulcasts listed above with the exception of the Wembley show. Again, there appear to be no other pre-FM recordings from this tour, but part of me believes that there must be some other shows out there somewhere.
